Everyone is familiar with the A-frame roof or cabins, most of them consisting on an A frame that can hold one big living room with one or more bedrooms, depending on size and astyle. These guys too it to another level, using a multi level A-frame project that offers living areas, outdoor lounges and sleeping spaces, for the ultimate getaway weekend house. Because of the skilled workers were lacking, he tried using the shipping containers, in a way that we won’t need too much site job work, besides putting frames and roof together to create this marvelous cabin, on the side of a small lake.
Being a multi level building, the ground floor holds a central common room, a pantry, and an enclosed dining room, with the options to become open space with the outside. First level holds the 3rd container, that has a private bedroom and bathroom, nicely furnished for their needs. Close by, there is a dining and a kitchen area, with a separate bedroom connected to a small swimming pool and deck right on the small lake edge. The upper deck, offers a more private partial outdoor area under the roof of the A-frame.
The building structure and roof itself is perfect for the tropical climate and heat transfer problem. The combination between the metal roof and glass of the front area is perfect to keep the heat away but offer a great source of light. The lower part of the roof holds a steel plate that can protect from rain and stun , yet still offer a good wind flow through the cabin to maximize ventilation and prevent heat from taking over the bedrooms and sitting areas. Shade like frame on the ground floor, protects from direct sunlight and letting the wind flow through.
Perfect getaway cabin, ecofriendly and using lots of natural light and sustainable materials including the refurbished shipping containers offering a great view, house and place to disconnect and relax together with the family, away from the craziness of the busy cities.
