Of course there are multiple TV Series that the shipping container or the yards have gained a good role in their scenes, and below are just a few that we thought are the coolest:
1 – The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – of course someone could say we are fans of Marvel, which we are, but in the same time this is the coolest idea we’ve seen so far. In Episode 3 of the series, Sam Wilson, along with Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier), Sharon Carter, and Helmet Zemo, arrived in Madripoor, a fictional corrupted country loosely based on Indonesia and Singapore. After a series of events, the characters ended up in a Secret Lab Container at the Madripoor shipyard, where Doctor Wilfred Nagel, the evil scientist who rebuilt the Super Soldier Serum, is secretly hiding in. The characters ended up in an epic gun fight around the shipyard filled with containers, which resulted in the epic showcase of shipping containers being exploded and destroyed as well. ( Poor babies ).
The coolest part is that the producers of Marvel Studios created a fictional tourism website for Madripoor as well ( You can access it HERE ). When you go to “Book a charter” at Buccaneer Bay on the website, you’ll be taken to a page with an aerial view of the container yard from Episode 3. Upon accessing the code “Power Broker”, you will be directed to a container yard “e-platform” where you can search for containers using an container ID. Upon typing in the code 4261, the container lab Dr. Nagel was in will show up. This will also bring up spray painted images of the main characters, and security footage of the fight that took place in the container yard in Episode 3. How cool is that?
2 – The Blacklist – we all probably know Raymond Reddington played by James Spader and the famous shipping container scene, called “the way home” by the fans, in which himself and Elizabeth, his daughter, are safely traveling in a shipping container, across the ocean to wake up in a market parking lot, safe and sound. Wish we could all have this luxury container traveling pod and experience traveling a different way than regular transportation ways.
3 – Container Wars – Taking place at commercial shipping ports, the series centers on a group of experts from various backgrounds who spend tens of thousands of dollars to compete for the contents of high-value shipping containers from around the world. With only minutes to assess the containers and decide whether to bid, the pressure mounts as they walk away with big wins or go home empty-handed.
4 – Container HOMES – it’s a short tv series that shows innovative builders as they crisscross the country transforming shipping containers into luxurious and creative homes for different clients. Give up your idea of traditional design and start thinking inside the box!
5 – Container Masters – Container Masters is a 13-episode reality tv series about re-purposed shipping containers – turned into beautiful homes and unique building projects. First season was released on ROKU to stream for free. There are over one hundred and forty million shipping containers in the world. The vast majority of these remain idle and unused. Jim Russell, working with a network of specialty builders is on a mission to change this – one container at a time.
